Use list segmentation to target the right customers at the right time. You’ve worked hard over the years to create a qualified list of people who want to hear from you–the key is to really make use of that list. Divide your list into categories based on purchase history, e-mail newsletter click-through and website registration data. Survey your customers –Online surveys are easy to create and can be used to learn how your customers view your business. Segment your list over time –By observing which items they respond to in your e-mail newsletters or promotions, you can write articles designed to appeal to different customer segments and use your click-through data to place them in the right buckets. By using segmentation to deepen your relationships with your customers, and by really taking the time to get to know their preferences, you can create a living, breathing database of information that can help your business succeed. read more

Business cards have minimal utility for most people and electronic business cards are quite as attractive. read more

All in an effort to connect with my audience, and to continue to build readership, to encourage others to connect, to help be able to talk about Social Media and what it can mean to a small business. Social Media Marketing, an hour a day , discusses how you can incorporate a Social Media component into your Marketing Plan. Evans writes, "The idea of "trust" is perhaps the point on which most of the objectionable ad practices have common ground with each other – that is to say, they lack trust – and the central issue on which the acceptance of social media is being built. If you do decide to include a Social Media component in your marketing plan, first and foremost, decide to include honesty as well. read more
