Electronic commerce consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. Today, e-commerce includes a wide variety of activities, including electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, online marketing, transaction processing, automated inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems. Many successful companies deal solely with intangible goods and services such as music, movies, office supplies, education, communication, software, photography, and financial transactions, but most e-commerce involves the exchange of physical items and their transportation. He is a business columnist for America’s largest-circulation newspaper, USA Today, and is the author of fifteen books on small business and entrepreneurship. He will also present a lecture for officials and staff at the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology on how to market government services online and make them the most effective, as well as discuss how governments can create a policy environment that supports entrepreneurs.
